Hello and thanks for stopping by my website, I'm so glad you are here!!
Spring 2010 has been one big ENDURANCE challenge, in all of the best ways!! It all began in May on the Amgen tour (a cycling stage race) with Team Radio Shack as a spokesmodel. From the finish of the final stage in West Hills, I continued south to San Diego and completed my second marathon (26.2 miles) to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If you'd like to know more about that personal journey, click here
Immediately after my marathon I reported to Oceanside, CA to begin pre-race coverage for the international ultra endurance non-stop cycling event Race Across America (www.raceacrossamerica.org). I rode/lived out of a KIA mini-van while hosting/producing/editing packages as we drove through the deserts, mountain ranges, corn fields, in severe thunderstorms past threatening funnel clouds and deadly lightning until we reached the finish line in Annapolis, MD. Watching these cyclists push themselves beyond their limits and accomplish what most people would consider an impossible goal, was truly inspiring! Hosting/Producing in extreme circumstances, though intense and challenging in every way, was incredibly empowering for me both as a journalist and as a person.
Barely recovered from RAAM, I headed off to the Corona Light Wide Open Volleyball Tournament to host player interviews for Oakley's website, then shot an episode of a friends web series and a pilot. All the while interviewing/auditioning for local news affiliates and new shows currently in the works. I don't know what is next for me at the moment ... but if history repeats itself (which often it does :)) its going to be an adventure!!
